Several years ago I was introduced to black hat techniques to get to the top page of Google fast. There were so many manipulative strategies that were proven to have worked and also software that made it easy to carry out those strategies.
During that time I only wanted my website as a reference for what I do, sort of an online calling card, and so SEO was not really part of my website development.
But I got interested and researched how SEO works. As I found out, a very patient online marketer can really make a lot of money online by simply creating websites on autopilot. These are websites that generate content automatically with a use of a program or a script or a plugin. And it is not an easy task and a very risky one if you plan to invest as I will explain later why.
To give you an idea, earning 3,000 USD a month would require around 100 (one hundred) websites with diverse content and different niches. On the average, each website is expected to earn 1 USD a day or 100 USD a day for all 100 sites. That would total to 3000 USD a month. The cost of hosting 100 WordPress sites would only be in the amount range of 3000 USD a year. This is the reason why many were blinded by this scheme; an investment of 3000USD would yield a potential 36000 USD a year, and that is just a conservative calculation.
Now, the problem with this scheme; the webmaster would have to ensure that those 100 sites get to the top pages of Google which is not an easy task and if you are an SEO expert, you would know that Google is constantly changing its algorithm in identifying high quality sites that makes it to their top pages.
So many years have passed and many people are still doing this scheme and it can work but it’s like a hit and run scenario and most of the time, its the investor that is overrun.
Personally, I believe that autoblogging can work on websites that is not concerned about SEO and more of providing quality content from other sources to their visitors since they have no plans on putting in content on their site anyways (yes there are so many businesses out there who just wants a website but does not want to provide more content to their site except the usual about us and portfolio).
