1/2 cup green tamarind or kamias
2 cups water
3 pieces ripe tomatoes, sliced
salt or patis to taste
1 kilo fish (alumahan or galunggong)
Cook tamarind in water until soft. Remove from water then press or mash to extract the juice. Strain then return the juice to the saucepan. Add tomatoes and salt or patis. Put in the fish. Cover and simmer until fish is cooked.
